Dave Matthews sucks!

I know this is probably old news but I'm slow. I just got my hands of a copy of his new CD, "Stand Up". It's okay and not as good as his older stuff. I'm not a huge fan but I do enjoy some of his music. Anyway, I get home and try to import it into my iPod. The dang CD doesn't even read in my Lite-On nor in my NEC drives. Copying it would be out of the question.

I had heard that the CD was copy protected but this is ridiculous. I can't enjoy my CD that is a legit copy on my computer and can't put my CD on my iPod. There are ways around this mess and supposedly it's easier for Mac users but I should not have to do a bunch of computer gymnastics in order to listen to a CD that I have every right to enjoy on my computer and my iPod. I'm not reproducing it to sell at a swap meet or eBay. I'm holding a legit copy that cost good money and I am restricted from how I am to listen to it.

I don't know if it's about money, intellectual property (= money), or special deals the band made with Napster (= money) but it sucks. And to think that Dave Matthews is such a screamin' liberal. I knew society was going to Hell in a handbasket as soon as we moved from vinyl to CD's.
