I agree that it is WRONG to steal music. However, one should be able to transfer the music to your iPod.
A solution is get your music via iTunes and then you can download it to the iPod and make a backup of your music. No more CDs.

If I hear that a cd is not able to be copied to my iPod then I will no longer purchase that bands music, via iTunes, or any other method. Fair use means that I, the consumer have the right to put the music on my iPod. Stealing is wrong, and infringing upon the rights of the cd purchaser is wrong as well. The best way I can fight back is to not spend my money on that bands music.
I would expect this to end up in court, as most things do.....
