Remember that the older Honda engines, esp theNSX, pioneered a lot of new automotive technology:

-Variable Valve Timing
-Variable Length Intake Manifold
-FRM cylinder sleeves: Fiber Reinforced Material= allowed much thinner sleeves allowing less space between cylinders= smaller block= less weight, etc
-First all aluinum body/frame in a production vehicle

In terms of Preludes, its not uncommon to see h22's making 400+w hp, 350w lbstq. Honda cylinder heads flow unbelievably, very efficient.

Remember that the NSX debut'ed in 91 and the Prelude with the h22 in 92(93 in US). Stock Prelude puts out 200hp,160lbs. Not bad for a NA 4cyl made in 92 huh?
