The problem that I'm having is that no sound is coming out from the speakers. I can control the ipod either from the unit itself or from the radio. The radio displays the text as well as changes tracks on the ipod. So, I know that the DICE unit isn't the problem. My though is that the amplifier is not being told to turn on. I had a similar situation with my E46 when swapping headunits with an Apline aftermarket receiver.
The instructions state that you need to connect the power and ground wires for the DSP unit into the corresponding wires into the harness. I've done that without any success. In talking with Tom at EAS, I have a feeling that I need to be connecting the 12+ power source wire from the DSP unit into the remote turn on wire for the amplifier.
My question is which wire is the remote turn-on wire? Tom had stated that it is Purple/White wire. In looking at the main 16-wire harness, I do not see that wire . I unfortunately do not have access to a voltmeter and am looking to the X5 community for help.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Check what type of connector you have on your factory amp. If you have DSP you may have a 15 pins connector. If that is the case you should get a remote +12v on pin 4 which gives 12v when the radio unit is on. If you have a 42 pins connector (actually 2 connectors side by side, a grey one and a black one) you should get a remote +12v on pin 10 of the grey connector. I would still strongly suggest that you test this with a voltmeter. i
