It's funny you mention that Gresch. I was chatting with the guy in the tunnel asking him about the donation thing, and he confirmed what you said above. But he said something else interesting. They have to have 2 kids per period on the Zambonis, and if they do not sell 4 rides for the game, they pick kids are random. They run into problems when a family that got a free ride talks to a family that paid full price while the kids are riding. He said it has led to some difficulties in the past.
I called the Garden to get a videotape of the announcement and the ride and have offered to make the donation to the charity. We'll see if the Garden gets back to me on it. I doubt Jim Dolan's crew will go out of their way though.
