MD is right in that 56,000 miles is very early to change transmission fluid, when it is a lifetime fluid anyway. Those that are talking 100,000 are talking miles, and so 160,000 km would be the local measure for that change.

Myself, I can't imagine changing transmission fluid at that mileage. Waste of time and money, not to mention depleting a non-renewable resource.

Slightly off topic, but what the heck is a diffy? Is it like a biffy? Is it a differential equation? So many references recently to diffys, and trannys. Didn't know that this was a trans-gender site. We now resume regular programming.

Save your money, and just drive your X5. There is no correlation between changing transmission fluid and longer transmission life.
