I'm sure they are gonna tell you because your not gonna tell them about your welding project. How would they know what you asking for. You may already have one and no longer have the instructions. Besides what makes you think they care what you do with a part after you buy it? They are in the business of selling parts not forceing you to provide them with information about what your gonna do with it.
Think positive just tell them your thinking of having one installed and you want the measurements so you can see how big it is. It aint rocket science dude. Actually most dealers are very happy to do what they can to cooperate with you because they want you to buy something. A satisfied customer is a buying customer.
