Thanks! I used to be an electronics service guy. Over my career I have installed and serviced car stereos, home stereos, telephones, before moving into maritime electronics. There I installed and serviced depth sounders, radars, sat navs, sat com systems, auto pilots, weather radar receivers, sonars, VHF and HF radio transmitters.
I then moved into broadcast where I was a support engineer for video transmission systems and had the good fortune to attend 2 x Olympic Games.
I became interested in software programming, and wrote some diagnostic utilities for the broadcast systems we used back then, and the software ran on a handheld computer (Psion) that I used at the time.
I now still work in broadcast, although in the sales side of the business.
All of this helps to develop the right attitude and approach that anything is possible, given sufficient curiosity and the right logical approach.
I now own a BMW and love the ability to get in and diagnose the system by myself :-)
I assist local people here in upgrading their BMW systems and I have done conversions and upgrades that the local BMW dealership say is impossible!

They don't know I exist... and remember, a local country agent has to obey the rules created by the factory to maintain factory compliance...
