They are clearly in violation of copyright law. I love the fact that if I miss a television show, that I can most likely find it posted on youtube the next day, but that is copyright infringement. This is the same issue that Napster was sued over 5 years ago with regard to music. Youtube will claim that they did not post the video themselves, but that is a moot point. They are responsible for everything that goes on in their domain. Just as ebay would be responsible if people were selling illegal drugs over ebay, youtube is responsible for what is posted on their website.
