Probably not.
BMW Online has existed in one form or another since 2002... Due to our horrendous wireless carriers in the united states with competing network standards I don't think BMW will put in the effort. BMW online is merely an e-mail reader that receives special parsed e-mail from your BMW e-mail account through a GPRS connection on your bluetooth phone. It won't happen in the U.S. because:
1. Not everyone uses GSM (thanks verizon & sprint with your POS CDMA)... If you don't have GSM, then GPRS/EDGE doesn't work.
2. Of the GSM carriers available, phones with bluetooth compatibility are far and few to find.
3. BMW does not want to repeat the bluetooth fiasco its been dealing with since 04' in the U.S. market... (frustrated U.S. consumers that become angry with BMW because their bluetooth kit lists little support with phones sold through U.S. carriers in the U.S. market).
4. GPRS/EDGE reception is still pretty abysmal compared to support in Europe. This would frustrate BMW owners who wouldn't understand why BMW online would only sporadically work, due to a shoddy GSM network infrastructure.
In the european market its different. People shop for the phone they want and then pick the carrier. People aren't limited to phones the carrier picks. And all phones in europe are GSM, avoiding problems 1-2 & 3.
With that being said, version 2.0 of BMW online might debut on the new 09 7 series. That will be the first and earliest possibility for U.S. customers to enjoy BMW online...
