Waiting till service light comes on is even worse. Even under normal condition, the filter will not last ~15k miles. After break-in, many metallic particles are intrduced into the system. You want to get this stuff out asap.

I sincerly hope all of you will change at least your oil filter at least every 7.5k miles, during the course of your ownership. It's a widely accepted practice among the E3 owners.
