No, the letters etc. don't illuminate, that's just the flash from the camera. Sorry, I didn't mean to get you all excited......although, if they did, that would be REALLY cool! Like the eyes of an Alienware laptop, the contrasting white apple on the case does illuminate when the computer's on. If you're in close proximity to a CompUSA you really should check 'em out, though.
