Have you guys dealt with these guys?
I got a mailer and its for a third party warranty company offering warranty for my x5. Since my warranty is running out next month I decided to give them a call to see if they can give me a better deal than going straight to the dealer and spend $5000+.
They are called National Dealer Warranty. They sounded good at first but then they became pushy. I wanted to get a quote first which they did. 5 years/100,000 miles with a 20% discount came out to $1,993. He briefly covered the areas that are included, all lubed parts, engine, transmission, transfer case and even water pump.
But then when I told them I needed to call them back so I can decide, the guy was insistent that when i hang up without closing a deal with them, the computer will automatically delete my name from their files.
I wanted to check with you guys first to see if you guys have dealt with them but they were insistent that if i call back, my name won't be in their system anymore and that I had to pay them right there and then, either make a deposit or pay the whole amount.
That sounded weird, don't get me wrong the deal was very good compared to a BMW $5000+ warranty for only 2 years but I don't know...sounded fishy.
I asked them if I need to get permission from them first before getting work done by dealer and they said no. Just show them some paper work from them and the dealer honors it. I can also go to any BMW dealer nationwide and even Canada.
I don't know if what they said is true about my name being cancelled after I hang up but if you guys can tell me that some of you do have them then I will call and see if they were lying or not and see if I can get warranty from them.
Please advice...
