dealer fix to vibration at standstill is to fit a rubber vibration suppressor to the steering rods, a part from a BMW Z4 so I'm told. On the TIS cd it tells dealers to do this mod under warranty only if brought to their attantion before 2004 if memory serves me correct, so after that at cost. Also TIS says not 100% cure, just decereases vibration apparantly. I asked dealer just after they were told to stop doing it under warranty, so mine not done as expensive job and not a cure - I just never stop now, just keep driving and no vibration!!!!
