What exactly is the question?
You can start the car if the key is in your pocket, or if you like you can actually put the key in the ignition. I usually just keep the key in my pocket at all times...except when at the car wash, I then put the key in the ignition as when washing the car the door lock go crazy if the key is in your pocket.
