Quick example: Find a radio station (one that is not programmed) on your radio.
Non-iDrive way:
1. Press > button
2. Find radio station
3. To program radio station, press a memory button for three secons
iDrive way:
1. Click Entertainment
2. Click Radio
3. Click FM
4. Scroll until you find radio station
5. Press iDrive knob to program
6. Select memory program
7. Click knob three additional times to exit and return to main menu
I'm starting to think that Microsoft designed the iDrive interface.
I always hear, "Yeah, at first it's a little confusing, but once you get used to it, it's wonderful." That, however, is not the point. The interface should be intuitive enough that programming a radio station is as easy if not easier than the "old way." If it isn't (and iDrive isn't), that is not progress. It's using technology for the sake of using it.
