DVDs with "zero cells"

I have a question: How does one rip DVDs with "zero cells" to an iPod without having to buy several different applications?

I've been trying to rip a couple of DVDs (which I own) to my Macbook and iPod for an upcoming trip, but I'm having a problem with several Sony DVDs which are reported to have "zero cells" as copy protection. I've tried using several different applications including, but not limited to: Handbrake/Mediafork, DVD2oneX2, Fairmount, etc., without luck. I've also searched several Mac forums, and tried several suggested methods, still with no success. I have yet to try Mac the Ripper, but it's been reported on several forums that people have had limited success using that application. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.
