. Anyone that knows me knows I do my homework on major and minor purchases for that matter. First off King Palms are less expensive than this date palm, and in addition, they will not survive in the Phoenix area. I think it's heavier than you might think. They told me it's about 2,000 pounds. Lastly, I would not be surprised if nurseries have raised their prices to offset all of their losses from our severe frost last December.
