Sounds like Urban Myth/BS to me...
We have done literally dozens and dozens of all day road trips,
NC to NY, NC to FL, etc. Some of these trips have
been done in the fringes of 'canes. I'm talking about
driving across lakes on the interstate. Or, in snowy,
slickazz winter weather...
While I am not an all-cruise-control-all-the-time user,
we have traversed several hundred yards of ponded
water on roads with nary a head nod by the ol'goil,
with cruise on.
I've beat on the table in old posts: in
my 45 years of driving cars and stuff, nothing runs down
the road in any adverse condition, like our old X5 does.
Maybe the lady driver used to own one of those self-accelerating
Audis.
