Sorry but the statistics don't pan out that way. States and towns were guns are legal and carry permits are common have the lowest violent crime rates. The opposite is true where guns are severely restricted. Criminals usually look for easy targets and a fast score. That is made easier knowing the guy you are holding up has no weapon.
