The 3-series wagon does have the x-drive option (via xi version) and it is quite lowered.

Yeah. I get what you're saying. But at the same time, if we got my mom a 3series wagon, we'd lower it just the same. In the end, a lowered X3 will still have more ground clearance than a lowered 3 wagon.
