I have never seen a low engine oil light on my X3, ever. Perhaps I'm not driving it hard enough?

By the way, to the OP, I suggest just buying a quart or two of synthetic motor oil in whatever grade the manual recommends (I'll guess 5W-30) and putting it in. If it disappears in a short time, then take it to the dealer.
