I have not read this whole thread, it has gotten way too long..
But I want to add my opinion of gun control.

First, let me say, I am a gun owner. I own a handgun, several shotgun's and rifle's. I started shooting trap and skeet with my dad, when I was a kid. I learned to respect and use guns in a safe and appropriate manner at an early age.

Having said that, I am also for much tighter gun control laws. I do not think that guns should be illegal, taken away, or restricted to police/military.

I do think however, guns should be MUCH more difficult to purchase. Including, testing, background checks, finger printing, longer wait periods, qualification, etc.

So you can belive in "Gun Control" and also belive in the "Right to Bear Arms" They are not mutually exclusive.

-- I also don't think that having tighter Gun Control laws would have done anything in this situation at VT.

Until people stop wanting to commit acts of evil, there is little to nothing, society can really do to stop them. This kid could have just as easily climbed aboard a university bus and blown it up with 50 passengers.
