Does anybody know why the Perspective mode omits street names? When I first found out about the mode, it was a novelty for about 10 minutes.

However in practicality it's pretty much worthless. Take for instance a situation where you just want to run the map in an area you're not familiar with and need to see streets as you come up on them.

My guess is a memory issue.
