I had to do that with my FX and the 20's on that are not as wide as the 20's on the X5. Made a huge difference in NY, can't imagine you would be ok with 20's in Utah.

When we had the snow storms in Seattle, I was in a traffic jam bc people cant drive in the snow here, and started talking to a X5 4.4 owner. He either had 19 or 20 oem wheels. He was like how are you not slipping.
I was like look at your tires and look at mine. Even though I had toyo proxies (not the best snow tire), it was very apparent my car was handling better than his. Also I am probably a better snow driver then him but back to the Chris24 comment, yes not only the type of tire but also the size of the tire makes a difference.
