And, the rush to add gizmos and stuff, simply ratchets up the
glitch potential and cranks up the price...all the car mfg'rs are
guilty and caught up "in the race" for hot licks from the car mags
and bench racing bs gang, imo...I must be getting older, lol!

Auto manufacturers are definitely in a HP war, and it's because of current technology that is allowing them to make more precision blocks,cams, lifters, pistons, head, fuel injection systems, butterfly exhausts, etc etc. Things that would have cost thousands of dollars extra back in the day or a trip to your local motorhead garage are now standard equipment. IMO, what's going to bring it to a screeching hault is gas prices and MPG. It's going to be a sad day in US history when muscle cars, big V8's and high horsepower engines are a thing of the past.... I can just hear it now from the next generation "you used to drive a 405HP Corvette!?!?!?!?" as we drive down the GSP in 40HP electric golf cart
