IF you have a BMW authorized CPO warranty, you are covered
by that CPO warranty, (not quite as comprehensive as the orig.
warranty), but even if you have one, it will expire probably in
July '07, as CPO is only good for "100K miles" or 2 years whichever
comes first. As your '01 only had a 4 year orig. warranty, even
a CPO deal is expiring in July of this year.

Otoh, it sounds like you don't have a clue...head to closest Stlr
and have them run your key, or check your paperwork.

When you get the bad news on no CPO, Warranty Direct does
offer an extended warranty, in some states, to some cars that
have an expired oem warranty, but it ain't cheap and not a 100%
safety net.
