I'm not a fan and I don't know if he is a racist or not. What is a fact is that the made a highly racist and insulting comment. I believe that they have any company has (or should have) the 'right' to fire someone for making racist comments.

There are many ways to shock people with insulting or contriversial comments - that's what he is paid to do. That does NOT however give Imus or anyone else the o.k. to make the highly RACIST comments that he made. Even with shock jocks there is a line (Howard Stern even holds to a line).

Imus may or may not be a racist - his charitable contributions don't prove anything (the KKK donates Millions each year to various charities). Regardless, he publicly made racist comments that were not just damaging to his career and the girls on the team, but more importantly damaging to society. Spreading this kind of hate on the airwaves on a major network with millions listening (and not expecting anything like that) is an outrage.
