I recently bought a used 2004 X5 4.4i with DSP and NAV.

I noticed that there is an eject box in the armrest, and that the phone menu on the NAV (and the steering wheel button) actually dials numbers. (I get connected to a pre-recorded message asking me to call Bell for more info.)

I was thinking that since the eject box was there, I could use Bluetooth but there doesn’t seem to be any pairing buttons or computer options. I took a look at the module in the back, and it is showing an ESN but no Bluetooth passkey. I also didn’t see the Bluetooth antenna mounted. Voice commands also do not seem to work. I haven’t tried it but the BMW assist buttons are there. I'm guessing that I have no Bluetooth.

This module is part number 84.11 6947308-01 and I have attached a pic of the module, module connectors, and the eject box.

I just have a few questions:

• Can this module work as a stand-alone phone, or is it just for BMW assist?
• What phone model fits in this cradle, and what does this cradle do?
• Are there any adaptors or connectors that allow other phone models to be used with this cradle?
• If I wanted to add Bluetooth, can I just add an antenna to the existing module (it looks like the connectors are there), or do I need to buy a new module?

I’ve been reading through the forums and I am a bit confused about which features are applicable to my unit (Is this a CPT 9000?), and I didn't receive the phone manual with the car. Any comments are appreciated...
