Chade yes please try and post a pic without the bezel.
I also installed mine and I ended cutting the upper part of the dash. It took me almost half day but at the end I managed not to bucher the dash. I only cut the part needed to center the head unit. I have kept the parts that I removed and in case I want to revert back to the original stereo (like if I want to sell the car) a couple of drops of CA or epoxy and everything is again back in stock condition.
The head unit is perfectly centered between the two verticle plastics of the dash. I used 4 bolts and secure the installation frame of my double din head unit and I am just sliding in the head unit. If I want to remove it it's a piece of cake as I only use the removal tools that came with it and I am just pulling it out.
I made four holes in line to the installation frame so I can adjust how far in or out it will sit on the dash.
The only think that I am still trying to figure out is how I will secure the bezel. Even if it fits nice above the head unit without anything holding it in place I'd like to secure it somehow. A fellow member here told me to use two piece of metal and secure it behind the dash trim. Is this how you secured yours?
