Doubt it, if anything it would help the release. Diesels routinely get better gas mileage so why would their release be hurt by gas prices?

As for BMR question, IMO BMW hasn't seen a real market for diesels in the states to justify the added cost in making diesels EPA compliant. How many diesels do you see on the road compared to gasoline powered rides?

BUT that said, with increasing fuel concerns and overall better technology and finally meeting shit_y US EPA standards it looks like BMW can finally hit this coastline.
