Actually it is not the first - the same "M-Sport" package is offered on the X3 in the UK and has been for awhile.
Go to the BMW UK web site and look at the X3 options and photos.

That makes a whole lot of sense, i knew bmw guys wouldnt put a M badge on a x5 that isnt even loaded as other M badged Products!
