I guess we should have let the Germans take over Europe and allowed the atrocities of Auschwitz because carpet bombing Germany would have lead to way too many innocent lives lost.

So though I also believe Terrorism and Genocide are wrong our definition of what constitutes Terrorism and Genocide are completely different. I DON'T believe our troops in Iraq are terrorist and I believe the carpet bombing of Germany in WWII was justified regardless of the civilian losses. That goes for the Atomic bombs dropped on Japan as well.

The Atomic bombing of Japan is a bit tougher for me to stomach but end the end it saved countless thousands of American lives and ended Japans involvement in the war. I've seen some of the aftermath and that included some tragic scenes of children who survived the event. It was heartbreaking and I'd wished there were a way to avoid that tragic reality of war. Fact is we have minimized collateral damage and death with technology and rules of engagement but try as we might death is a reality of war.
What is your definition of terrorism?
