A little help please....
Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I've been lurking for a week or so but just registered today.
I currently have a 2006 X3 sport pack, premium pack, xenon headlights, heated seats, privacy glass; but no nav.
But I've ordered a new 07 with all the above and Servo steering and nav.
So, heres what I need help with. I want to "customize" the navigation system.
I understand that there is a "board" I need and I can see some software available on this forum. That's great.
Can someone tell me how I install this board, or do I just need to "plug it in" when I use it (that's what I would prefer). Also is there any special trick to getting the software to run on Win XP?
I'm also ordering the DICE adapter for my iPod. I have the BMW iPod adapter in my current X3 and it works just OK. The DICE iPod system looks to be a lot better. But I've read about several problems with it.
Does anyone have any input on the DICE system; good or bad?
Is it worth it or should I just stick to the BMW system. I know the 07's come standard with an "AUX" port now. But I'd like to have better sound from my iPOD and have control of through the car.
Thanks for taking the time to help me out. Can't wait till my new X3 arrives sometime early July, though I love me 06.
Best regards;
Doug....
P.S. I also read somewhere, it may have been here, that there is a hidden menu in the nav system. Is that correct? How do you get to it, and what is there?
Thanks...
