I'd be curious to know if they are a donor or a recipient state (in terms of the taxes they pay). I know it has been pointed out that if California or New York was to succeed from the Union, they would be much better off financially. Likewise, if New York City was to succeed from New York State, they would be much better off as much of their tax money goes to pay for services upstate.
