A plane carrying six members of a University of Michigan organ transplant team went down Monday afternoon in Lake Michigan shortly after the pilot signaled an emergency, authorities said. There was no word on survivors.

This sucks. When I was a student at UM, one of the local hospital life flights crashed near my home - all aboard were lost. These teams fly to provide those most in need with immediate assistance - to lose them hits doubly hard.
