I just finished custom mounting some 02 E46 M3 Vert seats in my E36 vert and I had to fabricate mounting plates and do some cutting because the E46 convertible seats are narrower. This and the experience of custom installing E46 sport seats in the front of my X has given me the confidence to do what I've always wanted and that was to install full power sport seats with heat and lumbar in the rear too. I would likely use seats from the coupe so I could easily fold and slide them forward for cargo. I dont think it would be difficult to do as long as I'm willing to gut the back seat. A detailed write up would definitely be written upon my completion if I do choose to pursue this endeavor. Anyone with thoughts or experiences with this or messing around the with the rear bench that they'd like to share that may help me in my quest?
