I've always kept the cars I liked for a long time, which is why I own BMW's. Financially, I come out ahead no matter what the out of warranty costs are. I'm planning to keep my present X5 until a hybrid version comes out. Hopefully in another 5 years. My record is a 1985 535i that had 240K miles. Either way, it's your choice.
