. Media is just getting jealous. They want people to drive environmentally-friendly, boring, middle-of-the-road appliances like the Toyota Camry.
Honestly, I rarely see BMWs get into collisions. It's probably because they have so many active safety features that prevent them from getting into a collision in the first place. If anything, it's often a rear-end collision because the BMW managed to stop in time while the person behind didnt.
I saw a woman in a Mustang convertible (the current one) rear end a new BMW 328xiT awhile ago. Based on the road conditions, probably a 30mph impact. The front of the 'stang was all crumpled up, the hood was all twisted. And the rear end of the 3? Minor bumper damage, left taillight damage, minor tailgate bumps. BMWs hold up well!
