Think of how worthless you expect it to be at the point where she gets a new one (or goes to college and doesn't need one) and look at leasing something safe...

I don't know HOW it works, but the superstealer will give a basic 328i for under $200 a month for two years. check it out for peace of mind.
That and apparently leasing is good for financials going into college, especially if you own a small business, at least thats what I've heard. IDK.
