It does become a little thicker, but the skin is really snug. As for the other thing... I guess it depends on how tight you wear your pants.
I just wanted something to protect the phone from scratches or if I drop it. After quite a bit of research (I tried a few) this is the best product I could find. I would stay away from black as it is quite the magnet for dust and lint. (I have it)
The film is outstanding and a must.
