Unfortunately, this recent addiction to doing
ancillary stuff combined with driving is not going
to go away, imo. And, I was guilty of spending
long periods of time on the car/cell phone back
in the bag carrying days. (No text/TV/Crackberry then).
Today, we see continual/constant use of cell phones,
CrackBerrys, et al...hellsbells we get a post a week
here asking how to make TV work while driving. WTF?
I don't want to sound like some low tech old fart,
but do we really need to watch fookin TV while
driving? As for texting: I'll make up a stat...
99.999% of it done in a non-work mode is utter
drivel and bullshit. Add that to the fact that
the biggest killer of kids under 25 is by car, then toss
in texting, cell bsing, watching YouTube/MySpace
while some neophyte, skill challenged "driver" rockets
his M3 down the interstate and I think we got a
problem.
The states can pass all the wimpy laws against this
stuff they care to, but kids behind the wheel are an
exercise in the acturary tables...kids with all the
electronic "connective" bs are potential killers or
may be killed.
Save the responses from the under 30 crowd that
tells us how "effective" you are while watching TV,
texting, etc. I could not care less how good you
think you are.
Good OP QwkAg, but no one, in that target mkt.,
regardless of age, is gonna give a damn.
Rant over.
Good Luck; we all need it on the highways & byways
of life.
