You're kidding right? After 40 miles you didn't even burn 2 gallons of gas. We've got 37k on our 06 bought in april 06. Here's the list of things gone wrong.
At 35k miles a secondard air pump sent an error to the obd and the "service engine soon" light came on. the light turned off a few days ago, a self healing car perhaps.
At 15k miles I had new software for the Automatic installed. This is still the stupidest transmission I've ever had in BMW.
Would I buy another, yes but only if BMW could figure out a way for us to flat tow 4 down behind our motorhome. Now that would be sweet!!
Service engine light came on and stayed on, wouldn't go off after I let the SAV sit over night to try and reset it
through the sleep mode in the software.
They put in a new "air flow sensor", problem solved. Also had a nail thru the side wall of the tire, new tire $ 262.15. 12,000 + miles and no transmission problems/
cheers
