I'm ALL for doing anything we can to help the environment, but let me play devil's advocate.
- He has ZERO trunk space, now. What good is a fuel-efficient car if you can't use it to haul groceries and the kids. It's very impractical.
- $3,000 Dollars. I am not a math guy, but I'd venture to say that it would take three or four years to save $3,000 dollars' worth of gas. This, of course is not couting the premium you paid to own that Prius.
- You build a car to be "environmentally friendly." Yet, what's gonna happen when the guy gets into an accident, or is rear-ended. Can you say "acid burn," an/or "environmental cleaning nightmare"?
Again, I hope that we do indeed find a solution. I'm just not sure this is a good one.
