I think they're great. If you like them, buy one, I doubt you'll regret it.

To be sure there are lots of great cars for the money. I have an S2000, a 996, and an Elise, and I like them all for different reasons. That said, if I could have only one sports car a Boxster (S) would be very high on my list.

Full disclosure: I track my cars a LOT and firmly believe that if you're going to the track rear- or mid-engined is the ticket. It doesn't make a huge difference on the road unless your driving is extremely spirited.
