Thanks to all who helped me with this, I actually did this to get it out:
Opened the car door
turned the ignition to position 1
held down the eject button
I was busy staring at the woman across the road
when it popped out! (the disk that is...)
I am guessing that it eventually interupted it's cycle and responded. I think the key is to ensure the car door is open because that seems to have made the difference.
Now everything is fine, but for one thing...I took my wife and the kids to stay at her mum's all the way around the M25 yesterday, the Sat nav told me to go down 3 one way streets and also to go down the A41 to Hendon for some reason
(very strange when I am going from Southend to Richmond...) anyone else had problems with the unreliability of the mapping?
