I had the same problem , but I found out , wen I did take the modified softwear fils/folders and moved it to a memory stick ( 1 GB ) and then opend the mode2maker , and movede the modified softwear fils/folders from the memory stick to the mode2maker then I was abel to make a mode2 Image Fil that I could burn wiht Alcohol to a CD that then worked.

NB: MK-III reads only god data CD`s , so perhaps you must try different types befor it scuceed.
