I have a Dell (broken screen) still works via an external monitor, an IBM Lenovo and a Panasonic Toughbook Elite.

After almost two years, the Toughbook looks and works like brand new whereas the IBM is a workhorse but no points for looks. The Toughbook is the same that the law enforcement uses. The Elite series is for professionals and can take a lot of hit and drops. Check out the CF-W2 or any of the newer models. You will not be disappointed but they do cost a few $$$.
