IMO the best option for $1,600 (other than doing the work yourself) would be to to put the $ in your pocket and find a reliable independant shop that can do the maintenance work at a fraction of the cost of the dealership. No special equipment needed for any of the maintenance items. You will probably come out ahead or at least break even.
Failing that, and if you like the idea of going to the dealership, then you are doing the right thing by putting pen to paper and seeing what will most likely be needed over the two years. The biggest ticket item is whether or not you will need a full brake job - the other maintenance items are relatively incidental..
FWIW, here are rough prices from this year for Boston area
- full front and rear brake job (rotors, pads and sensors) ~$1,350
- Annual oil and filter change ~$125 x 2
- Inspection I or II $600-800
- belts $?
So if you need a full brake job, one inspection and 2 oil changes over the 2 years you will be up to $2200-2400, if not.............
Good luck
