. Do you realize that 80% of the cops in Senegal don't carry guns, they walk around with empty holsters. Gun crimes are virtually non-existent in Dakar. There is a HUGE French and Libanese cummunity estabilish there sinces the 60's. Dakar is a very cosmopolite city and biggest tourist destination in West Africa. Try yahoo.fr to get an idea, it's at the doorstep of Paris and very affordable. Here is a semi-touristic site that has some good info
